Dr. Brian Barr likes to spend time outdoors, hiking and paddling in the wilderness of New York State.  He received his Ph.D.  in Mechanical Engineering and was employed as a Post-Doc at the University of Florida in the Department of Civil and Coastal Engineering modeling fluid flows.

Dr. Barr works for GE, developing more efficient turbines and diesel engines.  By increasing the efficiency of these engines, his work makes it possible for travel and transport of freight to have less of an impact on our ecosystem by reducing the emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gasses.
